Raising a Glass to Absolut Nights: How a Conversational Bartender Bot Elevated the Cocktail Experience

Facebook approached my team to create a new online experience for the Absolut Nights campaign. We developed a conversational bartender bot on Messenger that invited users to try an Absolut Cocktail at their favorite bar. This innovative campaign leveraged Messenger's Bot Platform and gave users a unique and engaging way to interact with the Absolut brand.


We started the project before Facebook had officially launched the Bot Platform to the public, meaning we had to work closely with the Messenger product team to define some of the features that would eventually make it into the public release of the platform. Additionally, we needed to make sure that the conversational flow of the bot felt natural and engaging for users.

Solution and Results:

Our team successfully developed the conversational bartender bot and launched the Absolut Nights campaign on Messenger. The campaign was a huge success, with 17 million impressions and performance metrics that exceeded benchmarks by 2x. Our work on the campaign also earned us a Facebook Silver Award and a spot on the Cannes Lions shortlist.

One of the cooler moments for the team and I was having David Marcus, Facebook Messenger's VP of Product, officially launch our bot on stage at Techcrunch Disrupt.
